What should I wear for public skating?
Rink air temperature averages 40-60 degrees year round. Dress in warm, comfortable clothing that will not restrict your movements (and dress in layers). Long pants and gloves or mittens recommended. Dressing in layers gives you the option of removing a layer if you get too warm. Don't forget a tall, thick pair of socks!
Is the rink made out of real ice?
Yes! Our team goes through a very lengthy process the weeks leading up to the opening session to freeze the floor in preparation for skaters.
Are ice skates provided? Alternatively, can I bring my own ice skates?
Ice skates are included in the price of admission! You're more than welcome to bring your own ice skates if you'd like to but admission will not be discounted if you decide to use your own.
What size skates do you have? Do you have 1/2 sizes?
We have skates starting at a Children's size 8 up to an Adult's size 13. We do not have 1/2 sizes.
At what age can my child start skating?
Generally, children are able to skate once they are comfortable walking. We recommend age 5, but a lot of people start their kids earlier.
Do you have skate aids to help novice skaters?
We do not have skating aids. We recommend that novice skaters always have a buddy to accompany them.
Can I join a session in progress?
No problem! As long as there's still room on the ice, you're welcome to join the session-in-progress for the remainder of the time. Additional time will not be added for late skaters.
Can I bring cake, decorations and presents for my child’s birthday?
Unfortunately, no. The venue does not permit attendees to bring outside cake, decorations, or presents for private celebrations.
*Baton Rouge Zydeco players will not be at sessions on the following days due to their away game schedule/holidays: December 24, 27, 28, 31
